The highest quoted power here is of the Gloster, while the highest quoted torque is of the Fortuner automatic. Neither figure tells you which SUV is faster off the queue with your passengers and luggage. Assessment includes gear ratios, weight, response, and condition.
On a road test, check gentle acceleration, passing response at legal speeds and gearbox behaviour once the vehicle has warmed up. For a used automatic, have a technician check for hesitation, harsh shifts or unusual noises.
Older versions of Endeavour require a separate specification check. Don’t use this 2.0-litre comparison and apply it to every used Ford you see, nor use the specs of the overseas Everest instead of the one you’re being offered in India.
What About the Fortuner’s 48V Versions?

Ford’s 2020 brochure boasts a panoramic sunroof, power folding third-row and an electrically adjustable front passenger seat on Titanium+ versions. The lower titanium trim does not get that equipment list.

Some Gloster trims come with collision warning and automatic emergency braking. MG emphasises that driver assistance systems are not a replacement for an alert driver.
A used car is more than a feature checklist. Have an inspector look at warning lights, seat belts, accident repairs, and installed safety equipment. A disconnected warning lamp is not a completed repair.
Don’t judge crash protection by the number of airbags alone. Look at crash-test evidence – but only after checking the model tested, equipment, market, and assessment year.
